Find markets selling fresh, mouth-watering produce every weekend in the Adelaide Hills. Fruit, vegetables, art, craft and wine – it’s all there. Almost every weekend, you will find a farmers’ market in one of the many small towns dotted throughout the region. Trestle tables overflow with fresh produce, buckets burst with cut flowers and espresso machines work overtime.

Hahndorf Farm Barn Kids can interact with a range of farm and exotic animals. Having won multiple ‘Tourist Attractions’ SA Tourism Awards, the Hahndorf Farm Barn is a childrens’ farmyard and wildlife park where everyone gets to enjoy hands-on interaction with our friendly animals.

Flour mills were built throughout the Adelaide Hills during the 19th century and historic examples can still be found at Birdwood, Mount Barker, Nairne and Bridgewater, where the giant waterwheel still turns. The Bridgewater Mill houses the historic 1860s flour mill serving regional, seasonal share platters and fresh local organic produce.

Already known for its award-winning wines Sidewood in Verdun is now also turning out handcrafted premium apple and pear ciders, made from 100% fresh crushed Adelaide Hills fruit – not from concentrate that are quickly gaining critical acclaim – drop into their cellar door for a taste.

Strawberry Picking to delight all ages at Beerenberg Farm, Hahndorf – From November through to April. Roam the vast strawberry patch at Beerenberg, foraging enormous sweet strawberries and be sure to browse and taste the incredible array of sauces, relishes and dressings while you’re there.

The Hills Sculpture Trail features 26 contemporary sculptures made by sculptors who travelled to the region from around the world for the biennial Adelaide Hills Sculpture Symposiums. Dotted around the beautiful landscape sculpture locations can be found on Hills Sculpture Trail maps and brochures.

The Cedars’, Hahndorf – This elegant Edwardian property was the home of Australian landscape artist Sir Hans Heysen until his death in 1968. Visitors can see the artist’s studio, a collection of his works and tour the property’s elegant gardens.

Settled in 1839, Hahndorf is Australia’s oldest surviving German settlement. Take yourself back in time walking the main street, lined with historic buildings including the Hahndorf Academy – a magnificent heritage building housing gallery exhibitions, a small museum, artist studios and a shop featuring special Sir Hans Heysen’s collections and quality hand crafted local artisan products.

Nestled in the heart of the Onkaparinga Valley, is home to the Oakbank Golf Club – South Australia’s second oldest – founded in 1892. The Oakbank Golf Club provides a challenging test of golf in a welcoming and picturesque environment for recreational golfers.

An all-inclusive tour of the senses as you travel through the Adelaide Hills and experience all that our beautiful region has to offer. During the 5-hour tour, you’ll visit 4 premium locations and sample their amazing produce.

Hosted by Bike About, the meeting point for the tour commencement is “The Lane Vineyard”, where you’ll hop on an e-bike and cruise through the region’s stunning valleys.
Bike About’s experienced, local guides will guide you to your 1st stop – Beerenberg, where you’ll take part in picking the freshest and the sweetest strawberries (seasonal).
Then the tour will ride through our historic German town, and take in the picturesque main street of Hahndorf, and riding onto your next stop – Udder Delights. Here, you’ll sample delicious local produce, including cheeses, fresh breads, and their mouth-watering quince paste.
After this, you’re back on the e-bike to take a ride to the region’s premium wineries. Shaw and Smith is the first up, where you’ll be treated to a wine flight of five of their most premium wines - and
a rest to take in the stunning views. The Lane Vineyard is our last stop where you’ll retire the bikes, and then experience their ‘Taste the Lane’ wine selection, whilst enjoying the breath-taking views that this estate has to offer.
